Russell Griffith-Marlin
Rigging and Animation Tech Artist
Hello there...
As a Rigging and Animation Tech Artist I want to use my skills to help artists bring their ideas to life!
Growing up I always enjoyed cartoons and drawing. Hoping to become an artist for cartoons/animations, things began to change with technology, video games, and movies were pushing the boundaries every year. I thought it could only be a dream to work as an artist in video games. After years working in culinary arts I found the the opportunity to move out to LA working on film sets and doing freelance vfx. Soon after I was building a portfolio to attend Gnomon. It's time to reach out for that dream.
About Me
Working through the culinary industry I learned how to succeed through teamwork with 8 years working experience learning and working as a young chef in Texas. I don't know how to explain the series of events that led up to my time learning audio, VFX, really bad 3d, and freelance film production work. I'm finally here.
I'm gonna edit all this later but really I'm just super happy to be here doing this! haha Thanks for checking out my site and my work!
Life had different plans for me and I'm super thankful for those plans. My mom, dad, brother, and the amazing artists I've had the luck of studying along side have been a huge support in this adventure. I hope you enjoy the showcase of my work and skills I developed during my time at Gnomon. Thank you for your time.
Education
2020-2023
Bachelors in Fine Arts
Gnomon School of VFX, Games + animaton
Gnomon has been a wonderful adventure. Learning as a 3D and VFX generalist skills through traditional art and digital art courses. I was able to develop the fundamental skills required to grow as an artist in an industry that changes every year.
With my experience I hope to take what I've learn during my time at Gnomon, and as a Culinary Artist to help other Artists bring their ideas to life.
2008-2010
Texas Culinary Academy - Le Cordon Bleu, Austin, TX
I looked to a career that showed me how to cultivate art in a team environment while still learning other skills and fundamentals. Working in cities like Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio learning from other culinary artists to refine my skills.
Through my time as a Chef and creating solid work skills such as clear communication, time management, and problem solving skills are what I want to bring to the table in my future jobs or works.
